Part-Time Studio Assistant

Job Requirements:

  • Collaborative

    • Willing to work with Kristin in a helpful and meaningful way

    • Able to work in a shared art studio with kindness and respect

    • Work well together with other staff and help customers at our new retail location

  • Organized and Detail-Oriented

    • Efficient in packaging and shipping orders

    • Can keep the inventory organized, packaged, & up-to-date on commerce platforms

    • Able to use Squarespace website design, Etsy commerce, and Squarespace commerce (or willing to quickly learn!)

    • Excited about helping assemble elaborate wedding suites

    • Self-motivated and takes direction well

  • Communicative

    • Speaking kindness for the KMD name through emails, order notes, and any in-person meetings

    • Flexible in schedule and will tell Kristin scheduling needs & dates in advance

    • Ability to work with customers in a kind and productive manner

  • Creative

    • Enjoys being in a creative environment and appreciates art

    • Writing skills to be used for blog posts and website creation

    • Has an eye for visually aesthetic packaging and space design

Details:

  • 1-2 days per week (usually Monday - Thursday 9:00-3:00 during the winter), may increase to 4 days per week and include weekend hours during busy summer season

  • Must work in person at the KMD studio or new retail space in Leland, MI

  • Background in people skills, organizational skills, multitasking, and computer skills

  • Ultimately, work duties vary depending on what Kristin is needing each week & can range from general to more specialized tasks

  • Also a part of the job:

    • Drink at least one latte per day ;)

    • Support one another through a fun & positive studio environment!

What this job is not:

  • Painting or graphic design

  • An internship that will teach how to paint, design, or calligraphy

Job Requirements:

  • Collaborative

    • Work well together with other staff

    • Help customers at our new retail location opening Memorial Day Weekend

  • Communicative

    • Speaking kindness for the KMD name through customer service

  • Creative

    • Enjoys working in a creative environment

    • Willing to learn details about the creative process of our artwork to speak knowledgeably about products to customers

    • has an eye for displaying merchandise beautifully (or willing to learn!)

  • Organized & Detail Oriented

    • efficient at keeping store and merchandise organized and clean

Details:

  • part time, up to 4 days per week, including weekend hours

  • must be available on weekends

  • seasonal employee, Memorial weekend - Labor Day

  • background in retail, working with people
